A quote by Andres Tapia says, “Diversity is a mixture. Inclusion is making the mix work.” It is said that diversity fuels creativity and innovation; and research confirms that there are correlations between diversity and performance of the organisation.
This workshop seeks to help learners recognise and apply inclusive behaviours and collaborate with stakeholders of different backgrounds or with different abilities, race, ethnicity, religion, gender orientation, age, physical and learning ability, education, socio-economic status and political belief. This will further help learners to understand the interests of diverse groups, enhance their emotional intelligence and resilience, as well as to increase their capacity to monitor their actions to build an inclusive culture. This will encourage greater appreciation and harness for diversity to build organisational agility for excellence.
At the End of the Workshop, You’ll Learn to:
- Demonstrate understanding of different personal values, beliefs, perceptions and attitudes when interacting with diverse groups
- Conduct yourself in accordance with the organisation’s inclusion policies and practices
- Participate in interactions with diverse groups within the organisation
- Adopt active listening, acknowledge differences and demonstrate respect for diverse perspectives
- Assess your own behaviour and identify unconscious biases when operating in a diverse environment
- Support the development of inclusivity-related communication
